Let’s Keep the Pressure On!Tuesday 30th August 2022andWednesday 31st August 2022
The amazing show of solidarity amongst Members and the commitment to further Strike Days have resulted in some initial discussions between the Union and BT Group.

An email from CWU HQ earlier last week reported there had been an ‘exploratory meeting which allowed each side to present their respective positions’.
That might not sound like much, but it is the start of a dialogue that could ONLY have been achieved through the scale of Members adhering to the Strike Action and committing to further action.  Locally, several Managers reported their own surprise at the very few number of people that broke the Strike by coming in to work.  It was also reported that despite having the facility to work from home, the vast majority of members (and many non-members) held steady, and chose not to work.

All the more reason to commit to the new Strike Days: a 48 hour strike covering all Team Members* from 00:00 on Tuesday 30th August 2022 and finishing at 23:59 on Wednesday 31st August 2022
*All Shift-workers will maintain the same agreed process from the last strike action:For absolute clarity with regard taking part in the strike and those who work shifts.
If your shift starts before the commencement of the strike times and runs into the period of strike – members should complete the shift even if this means working after midnight on the strike days (i.e if you start at 7pm on Monday, you’ll work through up until your finish time on the Tuesday at 7am and will NOT be breaking any Strike Action). Any shift that starts within the above strike times, you do not attend for any part of that shift, even if the end of shift is after 23:59

And if you are asked by Management….
TOP QUESTION (asked by Members): Do I have to notify my employer in advance that I intend taking Strike Action? No– if you are asked you should reply:
“My Union has advised me that I am not required to let you know my intentions prior to the start of any industrial action.”
