The branch will make a donation to one of three charities, the sum of money being determined by our percentage branch turnout in the election ballot.
All you will have to do is let us know you have voted and which charity you would like the donation to go to.
However, if you have a particular charity you support and would like to influence a donation to go there, tell us your charity, get colleagues to vote and support your charitable choice.
Our identified Charities are:-
AFRICAN CARIBBEAN LEUKEMIA TRUST / NSPCC / AGE UK
ACLT is on the list this year as it is the charity that the late Gerry Ryan supported and we felt it would be fitting to include it in his memory.
The branch will donate £900 to charity of we get a 20% ballot turnout. We will add a further £50 for every 1% reached above that figure.
During the last elections in 2013 our turnout was 28%, which saw £1300 going to charity. That was down on the previous 38% turnout in 2011.
We would encourage as many people as possible to take part and vote to get the right candidates elected, and in turn increase the donation made to charity achieved last time. Beating the 38% would be tremendous.
THE MORE VOTES THAT ARE CAST, THE LARGER THE
DONATION WILL BE!
